About
Ibu Doula
Adilah Yelton is a mother of four beautiful children, and a wife to a beloved husband. Born in Saudi Arabia, Adilah moved across the world as an oil industry baby, living in Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Scotland, Texas and New York. She is proud to call herself a Houstonian, living most of her life in this diverse city and went to college for a BFA in Ceramics at University of North Texas.
Her interests in becoming a doula developed shortly after the birth of her first daughter in 2015 in NYC. Having a doula present at her own birth demonstrated the importance as well as the benefits of emotional support and assistance throughout labor. Adilah's goal in being a doula is to help educate, offer support and comfort during your pregnancy along with labor, to ultimately provide a positive experience. She has attended over 120 births and support all families in their decisions on how and where they would like to give birth.
In the summer of 2019 she launched her Malay traditional postnatal care and services for mothers. The word “ibu” means mother in bahasa, Adilah is a doula to all mothers. She is now a student at Southwestern Wisconsin Technical School for Midwifery and is on her way to becoming a CPM LM.
“Every birth is different and special, I hope to be apart of your journey to help make it a memorable one.” -Adilah Yelton
